DEVINE APPOINTMENT

DEVINE APPOINTMENT

My NI friend and I went to Mezzanine to hear his friends play. Soon after we arrived we were approached by a person who knew my name. While her face looked vaguely familiar, I was clueless as to who this person was however she had personal characteristics that would start a conversation. She explained that she has a copy of my book that I had given The Peak Parent Center (owned by her family) and that she knows my cousin?? She told me her name suddenly memories resurfaced. A flashback of my cousin telling me that one of her patient’s sister knows me, do I knew Bronwen? At the time I was thinking…”Oh no…do I know Bronwen??   When Browen came over and put the pieces together I got so excited I wanted to dance all night….so I did!!

BROWEN FROM THE PEAK PARENT CENTER RECOGNIZED ME because we met a year or 2 or 3 ago!!  Gets even better… my cousin is a CNA for her brother!!!

This was written on 8/29/15 and Last week(a week from 3/29/16) an e-mail from this fantastic lady was mistakenly sent to the school I work at...I think it may have been a human error, but God has unknown plans at work here.

Won't You Be My Neighbor?

Won't You Be My Neighbor?
I met a neighbor one night when Grandpa and I were having a pizza picnic. All in the same night that my neighbor/new friend (Doyle aka Dwayne) and I had a great pizza dinner, we made tentative plans to conquer the incline.  The next night we met and took a beautiful stroll through the complex (so Doyle could evaluate my mobility). Afterward we decided to take a trip to Starbucks to use the day’s Treat Receipt (ok, I initiated the Starbuck’s idea). At Starbuck’s I used my treat receipt and used the remaining amount on my Starbucks card.  Much to my surprise Doyle re-loaded my Starbuck’s card with twice the amount I generally put on the card.  And this all started on a Roadrunner pizza date with Grandpa T.  I praise God for His orchestration of life’s events!

EXCITEMENT! EXCITEMENT! EXCITEMENT!

EXCITEMENT! EXCITEMENT! EXCITEMENT!

Recently a friend told me that he was reading The Purpose Driven Life. Although I had never read it, I have heard good reviews about the book and I really wanted to purchase it. I knew I have a version of Crazy Love, but I thought that it was one of the few spiritual books I owned with the others being translations and versions the Bible.  At this time, I did not have a ride to Church tomorrow and was sad.  I have not seen Pastor Boyd since he has been back. I was also slightly sad realizing it would be a potluck Sunday that I would be missing, but I quickly thought of all the scrumptious food I do have in the kitchen and decided that I could prepare for the Rocky Mountain Calvary’s service tonight.

I could not think of anything fun to write about so I was going to find something that might tickle my brain hopefully initiating a story. I began looking on my bookshelf and found many text books, psychology books, random books, and what? What is that I see?? Oh my,  oh my goodness  I HAVE IT?!? I have The Purpose Driven Life!!!   Looking in the book  I read that  I had gotten it in 2003 from Julie. Julie Who??   Was it Julie K. from RMC? Maybe it’s from Ma’s friend Julie??   Whichever Julie it was  from, thank you!! I was now ready to read and perhaps write some. Suddenly I noticed my phone hopping across the table.   My frequent contacts are busy today,  but sure enough it wasn't an alarm at this time of day,  who in the world could this be?? I hope everyone’s okay.   I skittishly looked  at the message. “Do you want me to take you  to Church tomorrow??” Of course I do, but who could this be?? My eyes moved  to the top of the phone and it  was DAN--  Dan wants to take me to Church!!!  Tomorrow is  a special  Sunday but  regardless  Dan offered-- without me asking, Dan offered to take me to Church!!!   WOW—it’s  times like these that I like having memory issues and forgetting.

It wasn’t until I was writing this  that I remembered that Dan told me that he would try to make it  occasionally.  Dan  likes the smaller atmosphere and the tell-it-like-it-is style of the Church.   It was the last time he was able to make it that Mike’s sermon had many people laughing. It started with singling out a disabled girl (me), a lady covered in tattoos (Kay), and the only black man in this newer cowboy Church (Greg). Dan  was cracking up on the way home as he  explained his astonishment and affinity of Spruce Hill Community Church.

Needless to say I got a ride to Church. I  am super excited to finally see Pastor Boyd again  and receive the message he delivers,  re-meet all of the children, and  fellowship with the cowboys (okay being a cowboy is not necessary. as I am the farthest from a cowgirl). I think that was one of the points in Mike's illustration.illustration’s—to come as you are.  Actually I haven’t been able to get out there for some time and am way excited to see everyone!
